Possible Clutch Issue
Hey all!
First off I'm new here to this forum and I wanted to get some insight from fellow Z owners. Due to business I'm currently out of the country, so I can't try anything physically with the Z yet but I'm trying to figure this problem out over a phone so that I won't purchase the wrong part. I have an 08 350z HR, I've had it for about 2 years now and it's one of my favorite cars, I love this thing but...a few months ago it started acting weird, running funny, I keep her well maintained and oil changed and everything, but sometimes, not all the time when I stop at a light or a stop sign whichever, I put into first and let off the clutch like normal, but once my foot is completely off the clutch, it seems to jerk around like a new guy trying to learn stick for the first time and I've been driving standard for over 10 years so I know that I'm doing my part right lol. But it will do it about 2-3 times before going down the street like a normal car, then she's fine and but it doesn't happen all the time...there also seems to be a loss of power...like it doesn't feel like it should if that makes sense. Like when I accelerate, it seems like only 70% of my power is moving my car, I don't know I'm curious and I'm hoping it's not a bigger issue than it needs to be. Hoping that all I have to do is bleed the clutch.....which I have not had a chance to do that yet. If you guys could help me out that would be greatly appreciated! Thank you

Welcome- it sounds like nothing to really worry about. Normal clutch engagement in the HR depends on modulating the clutch release with the throttle to prevent jerky power delivery from a stop. If you're really worried about it, just bleed the clutch when you get back in country.
You said it happens after your foot is completely off the clutch. So is it more of a stumbling/bucking motion? Sounds like you may have the infamous issue that plagued a lot of HR motors (mine included). Does it only seem to be after a cold start, and only last for 5 - 10 minutes or so? Or does it happen even after the motor has warmed up? Is it only in 1st gear?
