Possible Clutch issue or my imagination?
I have noticed the last coupe of trips down the interstate that if I am in 6th gear running about 80 (2800 rpms..) I give it the gas to pass and I get a brief blip in the rpms and then it quickly returns to normal. Reminds me of a slipping clutch. Oddly I can not get it to slip any other time or way. Different gears, fast takes off's or crappy shifts. 82,000 trouble free miles on a 2005. Maybe the solution is to not pass in 6th......or hope I was dreaming. Anyone else had this happen to them or is it a sign of things to come.
Thanks.
Thanks.
I do have a pop charger but have not heard of this issue. Can you explain futher or point me to where I can investigate?
Thanks for the response. I fail to see the humor in people who reply that are clueless. I think some people repond the way they do to give them something to do with their sad life.

Are you talking about a tiny bounce of the tach? If so, that is normal. If it's slipping a few hundred RPM and then grabbing again your clutch is on the way out. 6th puts a lot of load on the engine, so you might get slip in higher gears, but not the lower gears. Hope that helps.

6th will be the first gear that you notice slipping, but you may still have 10,000 or more miles if you want to milk it. Just downshift to 5th and pass that way, save some clutch surface and make it easier on the motor.
Thanks for all the great answers. It is a small blip, probably 3-400 rpm's. I will also look into the pop charger issue. I do believe my fan switch was on and I have removed the heat shield.
Hmm....3-400 RPMS is kinda a big blip. Post a vid, we can surely help you out.
