When you turn the key over you can hear the starter plunger kick out and a loud thunk like it hit a tooth on the flywheel.

If you keep turning the key over it keeps making that sound it will eventually catch and crank the motor. Starter was "rebuilt" about 6 months ago and is still under warranty. Ill be taking it off tomorrow and hoping this is the issue and its nothing too big. fingers crossed.

Had that happen on mine, unbolted and retightened the starter and it went away

 

yeah i took it off and took it to a different spot to get it tested and they confirmed the people who rebuilt it did it wrong.

Autzone and oreilly's said it was okay but they only test voltage and see if the bendix goes in n out.. mechanically it was bad.
