He says he thinks the spacer is threaded onto the studs. He didn't say he can't take the nuts off

I had the exactly same problem when upgrading to brembos past week. The soolution that i found was to use a small torch to heat up the bolt/nut and the using a nut remover hammering with a rubber mallet.
