Yeah the miata RF, the thing is if you took a base you probably could do better with 12k than the nismo. Nismo didn't even have navi WTF is that? I'm still skeptical about the Yamaha dampers on those things. My biggest thing isn't even that, if they go down in engine size that's a no go for me, it goes against the Z life cycle it's gone up always.

At 35-40k for a base this thing will sell like hotcakes (if they decide to make this happen)

These days the Z car would have more competition than just the other Japanese cars. The pony cars (Mustang and Camaro) have become more sports car than muscle cars and can be had easily for mid $30s with 450+hp in the mid-level trims. If they price the Z35 upwards of $50k I think they'll lose buyers to the C8 Vette, which by the time Nissan develops anything, will be out of the dealer markup territory. I'm historically an American muscle guy, so perhaps me thinking that cross shopping a Z with a Camaro or Vette (depending on price) is a normal process could be completely wrong, although I suspect the Supra isn't selling great for this same reason.

On the plus side if the Z35 does happen, you can buy one knowing that you'll have the current model for the next decade or so.

Some great posts here on this topic, plenty of thoughtful comment, too many to 'like'.

My thoughts are that the present powertrain is fine except take the NA VQ out to four litres, a significantly cheaper and potentially less troublesome alternative to twin turbo's. And get serious about getting the weight down with a real 50:50 weight distribution not their previous claimed 'mid engine' rubbish. That Car & Driver 'prototype' looks good, crank her up and let's go racing.

Looks to much like a Maza! Nissan should give us a mid engine Z with a liberal price range for all the Z fans!

Hemmings opens the doors to make yourself heard concerning the Z's future here.

And the tangential article that spawned this one is here.

Hey look, first real "pic" of 2021 Z35. R35 and 240Z got together to make a baby!

I could actually own that. $25k buy in, yup, I'm in. Hear it's powered by some little six banger. ARBY's or RB something or other.

Oh wait, wudya mean it's time to wake up from my afternoon nap?

Nissan is not capable of making a car that looks that cool nowadays.

Truth be told, that looks more accurately like a combination of a 240Z & 370Z Nismo.

Its not real, can’t be.

Finally, someone seems to think the same... I honestly don’t see how people are getting GT-R vibe from it. But regardless, I’ll be waiting to hear the announcement from Nissan.

What-ever! Why not ask the kid who drew his fantasy car which car’s design inspiration points he stole them from? 🤣

Maybe I should have put more clown faces on the post with the pic. 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡

EDIT: But yeah, I see the Z34 Nismo front end resemblance you're talking about. But my first impression of the S30 & GTR miscegnation was from the low, deep, squarish grill opening... which now that I look at a late Z, also has it.... and I never really noticed. Doy.

Whatever the case, I do like that 400Z fantasy rendering. Could definitely get into an S30-370Z-GTR-whatever like that. Laff....
