Rear carrier differential
So I’m trying to buy a rear diff for my 350z but they say 2003-2009 NISSAN 350Z REAR CARRIER
DIFFERENTIAL 3.357 RATIO AT (LOCKING)
what does locking mean like huh what?

It means you need a key to lock and unlock. Usually its on the AT with the 3.5 ratio; the 1.5 will be open most of the time but the other 2.0 gears will require a lock. The key is usually a 10 hex and if you unlock it you will have a 4.01 ratio which allows u to do 4 wheel burnouts

jk Sir. Locking means vlsd or viscous limited slip differential. unlike an open differential where if one wheel is slipping, the car will send power to the slipping wheel leaving the other wheel kinda just useless. VLSD is where in the same scenario, both wheels will "lock" allowing equal power to both wheels. And maybe someone can explain the viscous LSD and how its different from a true locking. VSLD is better than OPEN

Yes!
Trav, if it were mommy and daddy's money it would not be a Z. It would be a newer 370Z at the least not a 350Z. Mommy and daddy funded kids don't go around driving 06/07 350z but would rather be a brand new mustang/charger/challenger/370z type. I'm just guessing its one of the younger guys who recently worked his butt off to get this Z and hes into the slanty wheel stuff and that whole instagram look at me culture.
