I know this topic has been beat to death... but could only find threads of people asking the question and getting told to go another route. doing research for a z my team is working on, one of our members 06 z spun a rod, was able to buy a rolled 03 for dirt cheap, would it be possible to just shove the 03 into the 06 and swap ecu’s? We have both motors pulled and he doesn’t care about the extra power out of the revup, or are we just going to have to swap heads and timing components..? Thanks!

 

Not secure with consolidating anything into more established models, however yes you basically addressed your inquiry. Distinctive IM, cams, VVT on admission and fumes valves versus just admission. Furthermore, obviously ECU tuning to coordinate.
