Default Decent clutch upgrade

Looked around a bit but surprisingly haven’t found any threads on this. If there are any feel free to link it and I’ll delete this.
Well I just picked up an 06 Z and it’s getting a new motor so while I have it apart she’s getting a few upgrades. Headers and test pipes are on the way, but while it’s out I wanna get a new clutch in there. I’m not looking to do anything crazy with this Z just bolt ons and a tune basic stuff.
I’m basically looking for a decent quality upgrade over stock, without being obnoxiously heavy like the cheap eBay crap.
Let me know what you guys think and what brands you’ve tried out and like I’d love some input.

jwt or southbend
Personally when with a southbend stage 2 endurance with quiet disc. Less chatter than the act clutch that was in the car and can hold decent hp when added. Plus designed to last for decent milage.

yes unfortunately after posting this I found a couple under recommended threads. When I use the search feature however nothing came up, kinda strange. I’ve been looking and I think I may end up going with the JWT

Do your research on the JWT LWF. You will notice a lot of gearbox chatter with every light weight flywheel out there. If that added noise is something you won't be concerned with, then go for it. But if you live in a heavy traffic area like I do, stop and go creeping in 2nd gear won't be fun! Expect to change your driving habits/technique when running with a LWF. Of course if you're only going to tackle the clutch, then go with any quality brand already mentioned by other members.

On my 370z I got a southbend stage 3 clutch w/ billet 19 pound billet steel flywheel for my turbo setup. It is the smoothest clutch I have ever used. Very impressive and a joy to drive. For my 2006 Z I put in a stage 1 Zspeed clutch w/ 18 pound non-billet steel flywheel and it works fine but gives me nowhere near the smoothness of my 370 and has me wishing I had gone southbend. For what its worth, these two cars have different slave setups that could also be contributing. Happy hunting.

I've installed and driven JWT in a 350Z and have always had good experiences with their offerings.

I went with JWT clutch and LFW, as mentioned with any LFW there will be chatter and JWT lets you hear that clearly. I've had friends come up to mine at idle and ask me if I have engine knocking due to the chatter. I can live with it, others might not like it. Z1 sells their clutch kit which i've also ran before the JWT. Both are great.
Also since you have the engine out, its a good time to check the rear main seal and add new motor mounts. Once the engine is in, those are hard to access. Headers I see you mentioned which is also a good idea. Hope ya find the time since Gov. Baker just extended till May 18th.

yes this social distancing is giving my quite a bit of free time these days. Motor mounts are a good idea, I’ll make sure to order some. I’m ordering an engine today so I’ll make sure to check all over for leaks before it goes in
