Beginning my first job on my Z and I've never worked on the VQs before. When I go to remove the strut bar the last bolt on the left side is being blocked by this clamp mechanism holding the positive terminal wire in place. How do I remove the clamp so I can get to the final bolt in order to remove the strut bar?
yeah I know, tried pushing it in like the camshaft position sensor but wouldn’t release. Where exactly do I apply pressure to release it? Thanks for the response.
If you look at the side of the square on the loom clamp, they have opposing triangles that lock when pushed together. Gently pry on the upper side and it'll unhook from the lower.
Or, wiggle the vertical plastic mount & it'll pop off the metal anchor tab and allow you room to get to the bolt.
Shiiiiid I just broke mine off. If it's not gonna hurt anything, it can be broken!
These things are all 11-17 years old, time & temps aren't on your side. You can make a strain relief with appropriately sized zip ties and attention to detail so they don't stick out.
