Default wondering about radiator issues across year models

So I recently encountered an issue with my 06 5at 350z that is as i know a known defect; where the seals on the stock radiator trans line cooler fail and allow coolant into the transmission line and subsequently destroys your transmission and valve body.....it was a nightmare that was only just about to be fixed with a new transmission from Z1 and a new Valve body when mercifully, god trew enough hail at my car my insurance company totaled it and i got a break. Now i had already bought a Mishimoto radiator and external transline cooler in the process of that ordeal, as that was a definate must for avoiding/fixing the issue all together. My question is, do i need to take the same measure with the new 08 5at touring 350 im currently buying or did this issue get resolved between 06-08? need advice asap please. thank you.

Well it must have gotten fixed because my radiator (08) never had this problem through its 115k life span. Only reason I changed it was because it cracked due to overheating (my fault). Other wise a reliable radiator for a factory one.
Plus from what I hear, the transmission is upgraded and better.

Also I believe you'll need another mishimoto radiator for the 08 as fitment for your current 05 radiator may be an issue.
I also have the 08 350Z touring 5AT. With this being said, ask the owner if they've changed the gallery gaskets. If not, you should ask for a lower price as you're gonna need to change it. Be advised as well that the OEM headlight housing is EXPENSIVE!

Just replaced my radiator last night! Went from Mishimoto to CSF. I must say the CSF build is a a lot cleaner than the mishimoto. I remember installing the mishimoto ~4 years ago and It was a headache to install. I had to bend the mounting tabs, then cut some of my radiator support to have it seat properly. And I replaced because there was a leak somewhere in the fins when I pulled it off and tried to reinstall. Could of been my fault but I don't remember throwing it around like that. The rad has seen ~10 track days so maybe thats why it finally gave out? The CSF looks great.

It was an 06 radiator, and in aware on the headlight housing, something like $900 i believe. And I may just be having a blank moment but, gallery gaskets?

Oil gallery gasket failure - Oil leakage at rear timing cover (behind the timing chain) - It's an endemic problem with higher mileage VQ35HR and VQ37VHR motors. One of those "not IF but WHEN" things to deal with on HR/VHR.

Apples & oranges, I know, but they're both Nissan. The Frontier automatic transmission fluid/coolant cross-contamination from 2005-2011 was supposedly fixed by 2012. Frontier owners call it the SMOD (Strawberry Milkshake Of Death). It could afflict any vehicle with an automatic transmission and transmission fluid heat exchanger in the radiator. The Frontier has a front mount fluid to air cooler, too. Some bypass the radiator cooler, others don't. As mentioned, CSF is a known good manufacturer for a replacement.

Yeah it occurred to me that I could sell my Mishimoto and just install the ext. trans cooler and this too would prevent the SMOD effect as well........sooooooo anyone want a mishimoto radiator, still has that shipping box smell.....plus coolant background aroma (ambience)

FWIW, the transmission damage is only part of it. The contamination in the cooling system is a big expense, too.
