350z revup heads onto non revup block
Well guys I’m back for more advice.
I’m have a 06 Z revup 6mt motor has rod knock
im swapping the revup heads onto a nonrevup block I got.
now I’m trying to keep cost down, should I bother sending the heads to a machine shop? If I had a blown head gasket I would of course but that’s not the case. Are these heads known to warp or crack? Would you bother doing it if it was your car?

I would do it just to get the valve stem seals replaced/upgraded, they are known to start leaking on high mileage engines. Should be an affordable proposition seeing as you have the heads removed already. A good shop would/should also check the heads for warping or cracks, bent valves, etc.. To my knowledge, VQ35s aren't known for warping/cracking heads unless the engine is severely overheated.
