Default Vinyl wrap interior

I've been considering covering my center console with vinyl wrap, I know many have done it and pics I've seen look great. If surface wrap is going on isn't completely smooth then air can live under the wrap and lift, especially in heat.

Considering the texture of the console, how long has the wrap lasted??

What year is your car, what vinyl do you want to use?

would say that it can look good but it's tedious and will eventually start getting bubbles and stuff in hard angles, specially in the summer.

Mine lasted several years no problem. I recently removed it and started new w vivid epoxy high gloss vinyl but its been hard to work with.

today I got fed up and ripped it off and started prepping my shifter console to hydro dip. Hope that works out better.

Same I had in that picture, got rid of it now. Even with primer it will start coming undone, I can see it in your pics. That drove me crazy so I went back to stock for the waterfall, every other panel is still covered though.

3m adhesion promoter will also leave a tacky residual residue. It is quite the pain to get rid of without damaging the substrate.

What you see in the pic is the failed attempt to hydro dip that I covered with wrap because I didn't want to remove the failure for the 3rd time.......it's pretty easy to do the smaller pieces but I never could get the larger ones without some kind of issue. Made a crystal effect solution for around the gear shift pretty happy with how that turned out.

I like the effect in the red, it's cool. Vinyl can stick to a lot of the panels fine, the problem comes from stretching because it will eventually try to move back.

what kind of issues did you have w the hydro dipping? I practiced on a toy nerf gun and a phone case for first time last night and it came out ok. Getting ready for my center console in a week or two. Thanks in advance.
