Default Anyone vinyl wrap their interior ceiling?

I saw the thread on how to remove it, I was just wondering if a vinyl would look good? My concern is that vinyl won't be able to sit plush along the curves of the ceiling?

I did it on my 325i and I wasn't happy with the result. I wished I had just used standard ceiling felt, which I had used twice before.

i think vinyl would end up showing every little imperfection on the ceiling. I ended up using black suede and recovered mine

i did...i think it would come out smoother if it was painted first..all the little imperfections show through.

and the area around the sun visors is tricky.

Ok thank you all for the responses. The reason I asked is because the design I was looking for appeared to only be in vinyl, but I found some in a fabric.

For a smooth finish w/ least amount of work, you will want the fabric to have some sort of foam backing to hide imperfections in the liner.

I've done it with straight felt and it took a lot of prep and cleaning to achieve a bump and wrinkle free finish. The foam backed type is more forgiving and takes a lot less prep work.

thanks for the advice. i'm not sure if this fabric i'm looking at comes with a foam backing option. i wonder if i could just buy thin sheets of foam separately instead?

Just buy regular headliner material. Apply as usual then put your fabric over that.
