Soon as I saw who the response was from, knew that answer was coming. Haha.

OP - hard to say as that was a transition year going from CD008 to 009. Best to check other posts on how to ID transmissions and doing a visual.

Does it really matter? If there is an issue, replace it with a CD009/CD00A

nah I was just curious but I’ve went under the car and checked for the number and it’s a CDO#2 which I heard is what people want?

Was wondering for hours so I decided to pay the fee in CZP to finally find out and got emailed the results.

It is difficult identifying the transmission version because they are not labelled. If you are not experiencing synchromesh issues, you probably have the CD009 version, especially if you have a 2005 year 350z.

would you know or give me a slight idea of how synchromesh issues feel like? Bought this off a drifter that’s why I’m asking

It is obvious if the synchromesh is failing. You hear a significant grinding noise and the shift is not smooth. The problem usually manifests when downshifting from a higher gear. My problem was going from 6th to 5th gear. Others report the problem going from 4th to 3rd gear.
