PROBLEM:
Can't rev past 3,500 RPM on my Z, limiting ignition when not on gear (P or N, even when rolling). And when on any gear (D, +/-, or even Cruise) can't exceed 80mph.
The ignition cut is sharp! Exactly at 3,500, suggesting it's an electrical issue, and not mechanical/mixture etc... Even resembles an injection management control module.

Cruise Control works! Although the RPM limiter and 80mph max speed still applies (Which is a funny thing, making it relevant the the problem is not on pedal sensors) which also doesn't recall to low ECU voltage or anything else...

 

Has the car been tuned? It sounds like its stuck in a valet mode with an Uprev tune. Check for map switching, typically the performance map is #1

SET light on dash blinks according to map selected.

 

You tried all 5 maps?

 

Figured out there were more maps.

Nice. You probably accidentally pushed the buttons in just the right order to activate the valet map

 

Mine were in this order
1- 93 octane gas
2 - 89 octane gas
3- cruising....won't go over 80mph
4- valet
5- kill

 

Mine are

Map1= Tuned (91)
Map2= +timing w/2gal 100oct min
Map3= valet 2500 RPM 25 MPH
Map4= 0 RPM
Map5= Stock
