Could resort to hood spacers... then you'll have gaps.
I think... to make a DE hood fit better on an HR, you'd have to remove the strut tower and the engine cover, again you'd need to test this prior.

Some say the new hood was designed for the HR motor. Wrong. If you look at each 07 Nissan hood you'll notice it was a universal look Nissan rolled out over all models.

The 07 hood is bulged out at the front, so it probably depends what the underside of the hood in question looks like. you could also check how much room you have below your current hood at that point, if it’s a few inches then you should be fine with the earlier hood I would think.
