Recently bought a 2004 Z MT. After reading many threads about suspension set up and lowering springs, true coilovers vs oem style coilovers i decided to stick with the oem style coil over. Now I know these tein basis are not top notch coilover but i got these dirt cheap brand new and im not planning on slamming the car or tracking it anytime soon. I just want a little bit of lowering especially in the rear.
Question here is for the rear install. The set up came with a spring rear upper seat along with of course the springs/collars. When I install the rear do I retain the oem rubber mount/cone? or does this upper seat that came with the coilover replace the oem cone?

With 230+ views maybe no one knew the answer. I know I didn't (and still don't) when I first viewed your question in the OP. Maybe you should post up what your solution was so others, like myself, can learn. Especially for those who run into the same problem in the future... Just a thought... BTW, nice looking Z..! (as seen in another thread)

 

They have changed the design a few times, haven’t installed a set in a long time.

 

You have a point there.
So for this set the rubber seat thats included in the Tein kit replaces the oem cone.

 

Tip for the rear don't install the threaded adjustment piece on the top and the rear can be about an 1/8th inch lower than maxed out... I've ran these for years and can't complain about them.
