After my buddy launches his 430 HP BMW 318ti we start walking to the back of the line to wait for him. Suddenly I spot a chrome silver 350Z out of the corner of my eye. "Holly (explative deleted)! Thats my car!" I yell and start running.

I get over to the Z and see that it's a Base or Enthusiast by the 17" rims. "Who's car is this?" I ask excitedly. "His." dude points to some young buck (17-18 at the most).

Like most of you, I'm used to meeting knowledgeable people from this forum when I run into other 350Z fanatics, but here's how the conversation goes...

ME: "When did you get it?"

YOUNG BUCK: "Tonight."

ME: "Damn. Were'd you get it."

YOUNG BUCK: "Huh, ah, a Nissan garage."

ME: "Oh. When did you order it?"

YOUNG BUCK: "What? They just had it there."

ME: "Did you get MSRP?"

YOUNG BUCK: "Do what?"

ME: "Ah, you know, manufacturer suggested retail price."

YOUNG BUCK: "Oh, no I got them to knock a few grand off it."

ME: "How much did you pay?"

YOUNG BUCK: "$35 thousand."

RANDOM DUDE: "It's got 35 miles on it!"

ME: (Walks away dissapointed that I have not met a fellow 350Z fan and feeling sorry for the dudes parents. I'm sure they worked pretty hard for that $7K the dealer just gouged their kid for.)

In young bucks defense, I did stick around long enough to see his first run of 14.5 sec. I'm not sure I could jump into a new car that night and rip of a 1/4 mi time within .5 sec of the mags. Of course, I wouldn't be racing my Z with 35 miles on it!

Also, mind if I vent while you're here?...
