Default Metal speaker housing approximate weight??


Soon ima be cutting this Metal speaker housing out for track purposes (this is not a daily) and i was wondering around how much weight people have shaved from cutting this metal out, just looking for an approximate weight haha 🙏🏽

My guess is 10lbs or so.

BTW, any interest in sending me the rear support for the storage cubby and its bolts?

The entire speaker bar assembly might be 30lbs to 40lbs. Great way to reduce weight but that provides structural ridigity to the car - one step forward / one step back.

where you located i have no need for it anymore so if you want it ill see what i can do to send it to you lol. Any chance you have an Instagram cause i dont use the forums that much haha

thsts what ive heard too around 30ish pounds but wanted to confirm on here since i know there are some members in here that have gone through cutting this Metal Speaker bar area out but thanks anyway for the info 👌🏽

This may be overstating the overall weight of this assembly. Nissan used lightweight engineering for this torsional brace and the last time I checked, I believe it was only 18-20 lbs. Without it, the torsional rigidity of the FM chassis is compromised and you'll need to replace it with a longitudinal brace for true track use. Maybe the OP can use this thread to inform us what the weight actually is.
