Question Advice on this 04 Roadster

I just looked at this 350z Touring Roadster. It has no rust, it's manual and everything is 100% stock except the muffler. I noticed the driver-side airbag has been re-stitched, and the carfax shows a "Very Minor Damage" event in 2010.
I already put a deposit to hold the car for me till Monday and I'm planning on picking it up. Got the price down to 11.4K before fees, 12.5K OTD

Carfax report: Here

Pictures of car: Here

First time posting here so I would like to say hello to everyone as well.

Welcome- I'll give the same advice I do for anyone interested in buying a used car. First, get an independent assessment done by a Nissan or ASE tech before you take delivery. It may cost $200-300, but is the only way to know what you are really buying. Carfax doesn't have the whole story. Looking at the pics of that ZR makes me wince looking at those chrome fender covers. It also makes me wonder whether that DS seat airbag was deployed, and whether it can ever be working again by restitching. Caveat Emptor!

Thank you dkmura. Those chrome fender covers are stick-on and just have one screw underneath going into the plastic, so I would be taking them off asap.

The only reason I'm second-guessing this is the DS airbag. I will try to get it checked before getting the keys.

No if, and or buts- get a full written assessment on that ZR before taking delivery. The other thing to know (if you've done any research on the ZR) is the power top has been a source of problems for the Z33 and I'd want to know EXACTLY what I need to fix in the future.

Other things to consider:
- Are complete service records included with this sale?
-Has the car been scanned for codes? This is one of the first elements of a mechanical assessment.
-Was the DS seat replaced? Maybe that explains the blown airbag? Otherwise, the seat is history.

Sounds like you already have your mind made up on getting it. Based on the horrible stick on fender flares, stick on chrome whatever those things are under the side Z badges, terrible metal grille piece, and awful aftermarket spoiler, with the minor damage, and considering it's been in Michigan and NY, I would pass.

But hey, it's your money! Bring her back to glory!

For all the reasons already mentioned above...

I would pass on this one. There are plenty of Roadsters out there in cleaner condition. If you're willing to travel a little bit you could get a much better/cleaner Z at a lower price, hang tight as used car prices are dropping every week/month that passes. Don't rush into a purchase because of the feels, I did that when I was younger and I screwed myself! Kudos to you for posting for advice online, I should have done the same when I purchased my 1st Z. If you travel out of state to get a vehicle, a ZR would make an awesome vehicle to road-trip back home, make a mini-vacation out of it.

Good Luck on your search! Sorry to give you answers you probably didn't want to hear, but sometimes we all need good people to get our heads out of the clouds and face facts!

good advice here. I wish I would have known about this forum before buying my Z. Although I am super happy with it I probably would have found another one at a much better price.

Agree! You can pay $200-300, but it will save your budget in the future
