2007 350z aftermarket steering wheel setting off CEL?
I've been interested in buying a 350 for some time and have recently acquired a non-used kidney and some of my retirement fund to afford one and the person im talking to says that an aftermarket steering wheel set off the CEL occasionally. Don't know if that's true but they are a way away from me and would prefer not to drive all the way there just to be disappointed that they have some major issue wrong with the car. I know it may sound like a dumb question but felt it would be better to ask here. Thanks!

For a distance buy (if you’re convinced this is the one), see if the seller will cooperate on a paid assessment by a Z shop/dealer/trusted shop local to the car/seller. If they’re interested im selling, they shouldn’t have an issue. If they refuse, walk. There’s a reason. There’s tons of cars out there, especially if you’re already willing to travel.
Thanks for the advice i was originally planning on taking a trip to them and just getting an OBD reader as i work at a nissan dealer as a tech and have never heard of this issue so far lol.
Yes. Ask them to pull the codes and tell you what they are. We can then give you a better idea of what's going on. Without codes, it could be anything. If he tells you he can't pull codes or doesn't know, run away.
