Just replaced the soft top on my roadster. Used the $600 AutoBerry top. Install went pretty smooth, everything lined up like it should. The only issue I'm having now is the top is stiff. I mean very stiff. Folding back into the trunk it stops until I help push it down due to the material just being too taught. I also have about a 1/4"-1/2" gap running along the whole rear seal from where it can't seat properly (assuming due to tension).

I'm about to sell this car so fixing the top was my last 'to do' thing since I didn't want to sell with a hole in the roof for obvious reasons. I assume with time, the roof will stretch. Is it better to leave it in the open or closed position? Would you be weary of this as a buyer? The final result looks great. I guess this is why people spend more on the cloth tops vs the vinyl/twill?

Definitely leave it closed or in the "up" position. It is recommended to not leave the top down for long periods of time or store it that way. After I replaced my top, I had a small sliver of daylight poking through the rear seal area which went away with time.

If you can, let it sit in the sun for a while as heat will help the material stretch and form. A little tricky around here with overnight temps below freezing, but maybe it's hotter in your neck of the woods?

Yeah it's about 70-80 this coming week which should help. Just concerned it won't ever soften enough to go back in the trunk like OEM did.

It'll soften up for sure once the weather warms up. Dont put too much worry into it
