Insurance in Socal?
Hey gang, I been getting ready to acquire a new Z for the past few months now, and everything seems to be set... except for the part of the insurance....
I am 21, with 1 accident (not at fault) and 0 tickets under my belt. My current car is an 03 Jetta 1.8 turbo and I pay about 1,200 every 6 months... I recently checked with my current policy holder which is 21st century and they wanted to charge me 2,000 every 6 months if I were to acquire a new Z... needless to say, I almost choked after I was given that quote... so does anyone have any suggestions for me? I think 2,000 dollars for 6 months is a ridiculous amount for insurance for anything but an exotic. I tried searching but couldnt get too much info, if anyone can shed some light on this for me, i would appreciate it greatly! Thanks guys!

I am gonna recommend what you dont wanna hear.
Wait a few years or pay the Price of owning a high Performance Sports car at a young age.
Give or take a few bucks I doubt you'll get the Z for much less.
4000 year / 12 months = 333 plus the monthly payment for the
Z lets say around 400 per month. = 733 per Month Plus lets say 100 month in gas.
800 and change per month to Drive a Z. For 5 Years!
of course your insurance will go down a bit assuming you dont get tickets or wreck.
I'd wait a few years unless you want to live for your car.

When I got my , I had one accident that was NOT my fault, but it still counted against me. I also had less than 5 years driving experience and my insurance was $234/month. Once I got the 5 years driving experience, my payments automatically dropped to $144/month. btw, this is with State Farm Insurance. I'm 21.

You're gonna pay a higher prenium since you're only 21. I'll be paying $252 every 6 months for full coverage with Mercury Insurance - but I'm almost 2x your age.

That's a good freakin rate. I'm with Wawanesa, and they're charging me a little less than $800 a year. But I'm 37.
One of the benefits of gettin older, I a reckon.
