Default Service Engine Soon Light - Part Two!

Well, turns out the car threw a code for gas pressure leak, which lead to the discovery that I have an aftermarket gas-cap on my brand new F'in car.

How the hell could a dealer put an aftermarket piece like that on, knowing it would throw code sooner or later. The dealer I went to today was amazed it didnt throw code sooner (I'm at 1600 miles).

Whoa, soooo pissed. A new cap is 36 bux, and Im not paying.

Hmm... that sounds fishy. Is the aftermarket cap attached or does it come completely off of the car?

Attached, just like the stock one is supposed to be. I looked at another 04 Z that was in the showroom. The thread pattern is very different, and the cover on the stock one has all the warnings etc on it. Mine, is just flat faced, with the grip point, no labels or warnings on it. Its sometimes difficult to get on and off, but I figured thats just how they were.

Maybe I'll make them buy me a Nismo cap to make up for it... lmao

i got the service engine lights everytime i got my oil change... i dunno why first time they said the fuel injection or something misfired or something. and this time i didnt check it and the lights jus went away

For the first time I got the engine light lit up. I first checked the gas cap and its on tight, because last night I did fill up. But now I am wondering if it the oil change I got yesterday too? I got Mobile 1 synthetic. Any ideas or should I just take it in?
