I'm just curious if you use the manual mode much when you drive or if it was mainly auto-mode?
From what I've read if you shift into manual mode from auto mode the tranny is suppose to stay it that gear during the switch over.

Did you encounter any odd situations when shifting?

I never had a chance to use the manual mode..This problem occured after the second day of having the car.

 

Any other AT owners out there with this problem?

 

I just picked mine up today.

I really wished I had the 6mt but the AT5 is okay.

I noticed in manual mode it seems to take a least a second before it shifts after taping it, so it looks like you wann do early shifts. Of course I avoided hard acceleration so that might help.

In full auto mode again with only light acceleration it seems to kind of drift to the next gear. I put 250 miles on it and every thing seems okay. But, it seems very strange not having a clutch and std gear shift in a sports car.

I'd like to hear other 5AT owners experience especially those you now have there breakin period over. How does yours feel when it shifts and what kind of time delay do you have when you shift?

 

Oh MAN. I knew I should have gotten a manny. Sorry to hear you are having problems but it sounds like Nissan is taking care of it.

 

Well I will have some info tomorrow for you guys regarding the tranny problem. The engineers from Cali will be here, to check it out..Also I put in a complaint with NNA today about this issue, they will get in contact with the dealer my car is at and get back to me. I am expecting them to give me an extended warranty for this inconvienience.

Does anyone know the websites for the Infinity coupe and if so can they post them so that we can see if this is happening on to the Infinity too and if so what they are doing to remedy the situation. I also put in a call to my dealer to see if he has any knowledge of the situation.

 

I almost bought an AT5...would be interested in knowing the results..

 

I put another 250 miles on my AT5 today. My transmission seemed to be shifting much smoother and quicker.
Also I'm getting much more use to the AT5. I didn't do any manual shifting but I did accidently step on the accelerator a bit to much and violated the 4K rpm for a few seconds, when it down shifted on its own and reved a little past 5k. I took it up to 100mph a couple times today still within the 4K range.

The only difference between yesterday and today was I put about a half a tank of ultra 94 in it today. I'm not sure what the dealer put in the original tank other than it was premium.

So whats the word with yours Chromez?

 

Well I spoke to the service manager today and he said that they recieved the transmission today. It was fedex'd their. He said that the engineers will be their tommorrow morning to drive the car to further diagnois what the cause was. I thought they were going to be there today, I guess I misunderstood what he said. After that they will pop in the new tranny and it should be ready in the afternoon. So hopefully everything goes well and I can pick up my Z tommorrow.
