Default Decisions...2003 Performance or 2004 Enth?

I am about a week away from getting my Z. I think I finally have my turbo eclipse sold. I can get a 2004 Enth. for $900 over invoice(about 28k with the basic options) in black(my first choice of color) or I can get a 2003 silverstone performance model with 5,500 miles and black leather(must have been installed aftermarket) for $28,500 - $29,000 (still negotiated down the price). The first sales guy was blowing smoke when he told me $27,500.

Which do you think is the better deal?

04 Less chance of tire feathering, and you don't know how hard that 03 was driven or how well it's been maintained.

When you have a choice like that, I'd buy new. Black is your color choice anyway. Also, will you be changing the wheels? If so the Performance's 18" will be a waste for you. Get the new car.

Get the new Z, since it's in the color you want. Plus you don't know how well the 03 Z was maintained by the previous owner.

Get the 04, you won't miss the VDC or 18s. Plus, you won't have to deal with first year bugs. As Bertg said, you get to be the first owner and choose your color.

Since black is your first color choice, I think this a no-brainer: 04

Check out Universal Nissan they have a black performance and it is cheaper than what you listed earlier. Shop well, use nissanusa.com so you know who has the closest to what you want. Also go in there and be well informed of all the 03 problems because the dealer is giong to play dumb and when he does just tell that you are sorry these problems must have the long beach area and just hit the rest of america and california.

Thanks. I think I’m going with a new one. I did go to Nissanusa.com and saw the black performance model. It was 32k though. I am gonna call then to see what kind of deals they are offering. I really want to keep the cost to a max of 28k plus tags, taxes, etc.
