Confirmations
After two months of sweating for that little black card sent out by Nissan to confirm orders... BAM! there it was in yesterday's mail. Wooohooo!
My question is for those of you (probably most) who have already received this black beauty confirming your order. Does yours have a delivery timeframe of September-November? This seems late to me. I ordered on 3/27 and received nothing until 6/3, perhaps that is the difference?
Does your confirmation have earlier arrival period months? Thanks guys (and ZGirl)...

I think someone in the know, I mean really in the know, mentioned that August deliveries would be fairly minute. And it sounds as though by you receiving such late confirmation that you should expect an oct/nov time frame...but that is conjecture on my part. I am basing it on the fact that many people received their "black" card a while ago. And that August will be a fairly small run of Z's.
Even when my dealer told me I couldt expect my car on August 15th, I was not inclined to believe him. I expect mine will be Late September, early October.

i'm in the same boat as you, i just got my confirmation letter yesterday, althought i ordered mine on 5/2. it seems many people who ordered from apirl and may just got their letters yesterday too. and i think most of us got sept-nov delivery date. here is another post on zcar.com which zisme provided with a good response to a question similar to yours. i hope this helps.

Well, I don't know if it means anything, but I ordered in January, and got my black confirmation letter in March. It says for delivery in August-October. My dealer swears it will be in August, but I'm not holding my breath.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I know it's truly out of our hands and practically a guessing game as to when our ship comes in. I have found that apparently, mine won't be in until the latter half of pre-ordered Zs, hence the September-November timeframe on my confirmation even though I was #3 of 9 for my dealer's allocation.

My dates are almost identical to kraZy's. Ordered March 26, received confirmation June 3 with September to November delivery mentioned in confirmation form. My dealer still says August.

I ordered on 1/16/02 and rec'd from my dealer a "production ordering detail" report showing my car being built in June and delivery in August. It identifies my order # as well as a long list of #'s and letters identifying the specifics of my particular car. Sure hope it comes when they say.

I ordered 1/15/02 and recieved my 2nd (black) confirmation letter in mid March I think. It did say that I should expect delivery from August through October. I emailed my dealer yesterday and he said that while delivery is not set in stone, mine is still supposed to be delivered in August. I'm not holding my breath, but he has been very helpful throughout the process. If it helps I ordered from RPM Nissan in Durham, NC.

I have the same September-November timescale and I ordered my car around the same time you did. At my last visit to the dealer, he said he expected cars in August. We'll see, I doubt that all 9 will show up then.

I just placed my order this past Saturday ..... I'm gonna be waiting awhile, I got #14 out of 14 Pre-Orders that the closest Nissan dealer to me had. In fact, while I was there on Saturday about 30 minutes before they closed, I heard one of the salespeople tell another salesperson that he had to cancel his Monday appointment because "the last one was just taken" (that was by me 
).
So, I think I got lucky to get one ordered this late in the game.
At any rate, the sales manager told me that delivery dates had been pushed back to September 1st, from August 15th, for the first batch of Pre-Orders. I don't expect mine until at least October/November. He did say though, after the initial couple of deliveries, the delivery rate usually picks up pretty fast, so I guess ya never know.
Who knows if my dealer is right or not, but for those of you who ordered early, I wouldn't expect your car before 9/1.

cbrake, I just got off the phone with my dealer here in CA. He confirmed what you just wrote. For some reason, he understands that delivery has been pushed back to September now.
As far as allocations and delivery, the cars, obviously, don't come all at once. For instance, my dealer has 9 allocations. The first 3 come in Sept., the next 3 in Oct., and the last 3 in Nov.
Now, give or take a car a month and it could be that all 9 would be in by early November or late September (with luck). But it is, as I understood his explanation, a staggered arrival of vehicles in the order they were pre-ordered. Does this make sense to you guys? Cross your fingers...

Recieved my 1st confirmation today. Mine also stated Sept-Nov delivery. I was also in the first allocation my dealer is recieving and when I ordered on 5/2/02 he said October for what it's worth. I'm still hoping Nissan will surprise all of us and we will get our Z's in EARLY SEPTEMBER.

You guys are missing information on allocation and when you pre-ordered.
Certain delears that hit thier allocation were allowed to start a second, of which the Z's would be coming later. This is why some Z's are over priced.
Some dealers went ahead and ordered cars... maxing out their allocation... (which may not have been legal, but was done anyway)
If you were extremely lucky you could have found a dealer that already ordered a car, took over their order, and made a modification. (I got my Z, 1000 under the internet price) I went to a Po-dunk Dealer in San Marcos TX... with a small market. (I also kept the original shipping date)
There may also be an issue with type and color, and when it is set to ship. Business wise, you want to sell the fully loaded z's first, to cover operating cost. (Mine is still set for August)

I just started a new thread on the same subject. Attached is my official update received yesterday. Production is listed as July and delivery in September....for now!

I ordered middle of April and have yet to get confirmation. My dealer tells me August, but I'm betting he hasn't a clue. I'm just glad I got in on the pre-orders. I didn't want to play the dancing game with the dealers or have to wait till '03 sometime for my Z.
