After two months of sweating for that little black card sent out by Nissan to confirm orders... BAM! there it was in yesterday's mail. Wooohooo!

My question is for those of you (probably most) who have already received this black beauty confirming your order. Does yours have a delivery timeframe of September-November? This seems late to me. I ordered on 3/27 and received nothing until 6/3, perhaps that is the difference?

Does your confirmation have earlier arrival period months? Thanks guys (and ZGirl)...

I think someone in the know, I mean really in the know, mentioned that August deliveries would be fairly minute. And it sounds as though by you receiving such late confirmation that you should expect an oct/nov time frame...but that is conjecture on my part. I am basing it on the fact that many people received their "black" card a while ago. And that August will be a fairly small run of Z's.

Even when my dealer told me I couldt expect my car on August 15th, I was not inclined to believe him. I expect mine will be Late September, early October.

 

Thanks for the feedback guys. I know it's truly out of our hands and practically a guessing game as to when our ship comes in. I have found that apparently, mine won't be in until the latter half of pre-ordered Zs, hence the September-November timeframe on my confirmation even though I was #3 of 9 for my dealer's allocation.

I'm crossing my fingers for earlier arrival...

 

I just placed my order this past Saturday ..... I'm gonna be waiting awhile, I got #14 out of 14 Pre-Orders that the closest Nissan dealer to me had. In fact, while I was there on Saturday about 30 minutes before they closed, I heard one of the salespeople tell another salesperson that he had to cancel his Monday appointment because "the last one was just taken" (that was by me ).

So, I think I got lucky to get one ordered this late in the game.

At any rate, the sales manager told me that delivery dates had been pushed back to September 1st, from August 15th, for the first batch of Pre-Orders. I don't expect mine until at least October/November. He did say though, after the initial couple of deliveries, the delivery rate usually picks up pretty fast, so I guess ya never know.

Who knows if my dealer is right or not, but for those of you who ordered early, I wouldn't expect your car before 9/1.

 

cbrake, I just got off the phone with my dealer here in CA. He confirmed what you just wrote. For some reason, he understands that delivery has been pushed back to September now.

As far as allocations and delivery, the cars, obviously, don't come all at once. For instance, my dealer has 9 allocations. The first 3 come in Sept., the next 3 in Oct., and the last 3 in Nov.

Now, give or take a car a month and it could be that all 9 would be in by early November or late September (with luck). But it is, as I understood his explanation, a staggered arrival of vehicles in the order they were pre-ordered. Does this make sense to you guys? Cross your fingers...
