Question 3SI or 350Z- your impressions?

Hey Guys. I was wondering if any of you out there previously owned either a stealth TT or VR4 before a 350z and if so, what your impressions were of the things you liked/disliked and or missed going from one of the 3SI's to the new Z.

Thanks.

I owned a Stealth R/T years ago, and I've driven quite a few Stealth TTs My impressions are this: The stealth is a big, heavy, body-rolling pig that does ok in a straight line. If you want finess in the corners as well as straight line performance for a reasonable price, the Z is the way to go. The balance is better, the car is tighter and it's a real sports car....no back seat!...Of course every now and again, I wouldn't mind having a back seat!

Funny you said this i just got rid of my 99 3000gt VR4! LOL.

My Impressions are this:

My vr4 was faster than my z by alot. I was making close 420 AWHP!!. My car was really upgraded. It had alot of torque down low and was very quick in a straight line. I think the interior and overall build quality was a 8 out of a 10. I loved the look of it. It was a head turner. No body around me a had a 99 black on black VR4. It was easy to make this car faster but was it ever expensive. Not a great aftermarket for the car but it was getting better. I think the car was the king of the stop light races. It would hook and go. Sounded mean as hell and of course it was turbo from the start! Good brakes after i change the stock rotors to stillen slotted.

Problems were: It was heavy as is well known but not a pig as some make it out to be. The All wheel steering was worthless. And Mine in particular had a tranny leak (from prevous owner) that was fixed with a new tranny at 40000 miles. The back seat was worthless only a miget could sit back there confortably. Expensive *** parts for the car. Not cheap to fix either. Hard to find upgraded 19" wheels to fit cause of off set and brakes. And last but not least i really hate mitsu cause there customer service is a joke and they even spy on you to try to find ways to void your warranty.

My z is great car and i could go on about the quality. I really like the aftermarket. I think the z is more of true sportscar. I think the z is better suit for the autocrosse/racetrack. I like the interior and color ( 04 Lemans Sunset performance). I like the torque for a none boost car and it is as quick as my VR4 was when it was stock. I love RWD cause you can toss the rear around ( even though the VR4 was so powerful i could roast the tires and break loose with a down shift)

I do wish the z was more powerful right out the box. I guess i am used to being able to reach 170 like it was nothing. I wish the track model was worth the extra money but to me it is not just for brembos and wheels. I wish the z was boosted either super or turbo out the box. wish it had a front clove box.

Now which one do i like more? I will say the z cause of the warranty, the new car feel, the looks of a porches for cheaper, and the price. But the VR4 for the speed, the eye catching appeal, the rareity, and the community of guys that own them.

But i am still a z man

Thanks for hearing my rant

Aaron
