Is Anyone Keeping an Eye on the Ports Anymore?
Has anyone in the port cities (Newport News, LA) been keeping an eye on the ports? There are some of us that don’t have our cars and would like to see another large shipment being unloaded, or another shipyard full of Z’s. Has the enthusiasm and excitement died? Has Scafremon retired? Mbeguy where are you? Somebody help those that are still waiting… give us a ray of hope… someone throw me a friggin bone!
I'm just hoping the Hual Trooper gets to NN this weekend. I think my car is on it. It's supposed to be headed for Jacksonville right now. Hoepfully it wasn't affected by the tropical systems in the Carribean....

Like others, I'm still waiting for the 'here's your VIN' call, or better yet, the 'come one and get it' call. I don't know if scoping the ports anymore will help or hurt the enthusiasm.
Having said that, I call the LA port weekly, making sure they are still receiving cars. And cars are arriving....not mine, but somebodies.
Six weeks top I figure, and all of us who got our orders in before June whatever, will then be able to join the "Me and my Z" club.
six........long............weeks.
Well, I found out from my "Z Specialist" *David* at Nissan Consumer Affairs that my car is waiting at Newport News for
a spoiler. Sooooooooooo...I asked him if I could have the car
delivered to the dealer without the spoiler and have it installed
whenever.
He said I could! I just need to sign something at the dealer to the effect that I want the car delivered w/o the spoiler and the dealer passes it on to the Regional Office and bada bing...DAS will ship the car on the next northbound carrier.
I stopped by the dealer last night and they *of course* didn't know about this procedure and when they called the mid-atlantic regional office, the person in charge of the Z program was off until today. So I'm going to stop by the dealer later today and sign whatever the regional office tells the dealer to have me sign.
Now, back to our regularly scheduled discussion.
*I'll still believe it only when my butt is in the driver's seat

Boats were arriving fairly regularly up to the first week of September, then it slowed a bit. Boats will be arriving about one a week again starting next week. (no idea how many Z cars per boat, but from what I've seen, it appears to be a significant amount.)

Two Questions:
1 - Does anyone know which port the Midwest (Indiana) cars come thru?
2 - How do you know which ship your car is on? Do you really know, or are you speculating based on build dates and ship departure/arrival dates?
