Assuming he wants to trade for a G35C 6MT, why not ? G35C 6MT is a much nicer version of the Z touring 6MT.

i gotta say the g35 owners on this site are for the most part arrogant and clueless. Are you implying that every touring/track z owner is stupid for not having purchased your beloved g35 since it's the right about the same price? I have two buddies that drove both cars and BOTH purchased the touring model? Since you people keep pushing the issue, i will tell you i didn't buy the g35c because it looks/drives like an old man's car. right down to that stupid analog clock in the dash. the headlights are ugly, and the *** of the car looks huge and bloated. the dash console is made of cheap plastic feaux metal. The z actually uses real aluminum for its trim pieces. The car sloshes around turns with tons of body roll...You got more bang for the buck on you g35 in the same way a hyundai owner got a good deal...when you look at the overall package it seems like there's more (sunroof, dual zone climate)...however the devil is in the details..they cheaped out on the g in many areas...they add up (top of my head:no strut bars...iron drive shaft vs. carbon fiber on the z...aluminum trim vs. cheap plastic garbage on the g....no tire pressure monitoring system...no digital speedo...etc etc)

anyway you made a jackass comment so you deserve a response like this. notice this is my***350Z****.com ...you guys and your g35's are nothing more than an afterthought...the Z is the attention getter and the car real tuners are purchasing... realize your place on the food chain.

Harsh, but awesome. I agree completely. Only advantage is the Brembo package, but for 99.5% of the time, I couldnt care less, plus pads and rotors will be cheaper now. I *think* the G35c does have a rear strut brace though, I remember reading that its built into the trunk layout.

Major reason I didnt buy the SAME price car in Infiniti trim was the rear. The back bumper looks huge with the plate mounted so low. After seeing the 2 cars side by side, it was a no brainer. G is a big car.

Yep I agree, but it's an old womans car. They are mad like the BMW owners because the chicks and everyone else dig the Z better. They have similar attitudes like bmw owners becuase they think Infinity is "better" than Nissan, and b/c they paid more its better.

From a pure performance perspective, yes the Z is the way to go. The G35 is a beautiful car. I love it. If I had to choose one over the other I would have to take the G35...only because it is more practical. The interior is much nicer than the Z, but then it should be...it's a luxury/sport GT car. I never expected the animosity you Z and G owners have against each other....it's funny. Because I own an RX8 I get hate from both camps...hahah One day, I'm going to get a Z....used of course...can't afford new toys all the time.

Oh and relax....both cars are great. They were made to suit different tastes and needs...so enjoy them!

G owners can have any feelings they want, I could careless. Its when they think or call there car a sports car, that I get going. Believe me I think the G35c is a very pretty car.

yeah its a pretty car.

Kinda big and chunky.
It represents an excellent value.
But yes, if its a spors car you *want* there can be no compomise - Z it is!

BTW, its incredible how strong the Z brand and image is. Whenever I get stopped by somebody who says nice car , they inevitably have a story about driving/being in a Z when they were younger.

Zeroday, you crack me up. I love reading your posts. Post some more.

The starter of this thread never posted WHY he wanted to trade his Z for a G35 Coupe. So, I proceeded to make a "generalization" that the G35 Coupe 6MT is a better "overall" package than the Z Touring 6MT. If you read other websites, you'd find out that I'm not the only who makes this comment.

So to keep this thread on track, I ask the original poster of this tread:
What are you looking for in a car? Performance? Luxury? Overall value? Resale value? A car to make you feel younger? A car to make you feel older? A car you can mod? Do you need a bigger car? A car with "tons of body roll" and an analog clock?

4 seats... nuff said. Nothing is more irritating to me than when I cant take 2 of my friends anywhere. We are always taking 2 cars cause my best friend has a Z3. I would love to have the 4 seats, for real.

The G35c's *** is big, but the Z's *** is also pretty fat herself. But I happen to like both of their asses. The analog clock is classy, and the headlights is NOT ugly on the G. I don't know what's with all the hate b/t two group of car owners. THEY'RE BOTH FABULOUS cars. One's more sporty, one's more luxurious. If you want a more sproty feel, get the Z, if you want a more elegant classy/sport go for the G coupe.

HAHAH my friend has a white 2003 g35c AT and my friend has a 2002 330ci convertible 6MTor 5 not sure which..and i have a 2004 350z 6MT.. we all raced me n the g35 pissed on the POS 330 who thought he was the same if not faster than us , then a few seconds later i pull away and beat the g35, and he has tenabi exhaust, and injen cai. and i still won, the big noticable difference is when we took a turn at like 65 each, i got so much of a lead after the turn it wasn't funny,it was like a vette racing a honda civic just not happening (like civic, very reliable car) just comparing speed specs/handling. I couldnt belive my friend with the 330ci thought he could beat us, and my friend with the g35c AT with exhaust/intake gave me a run, eventually i won and around the turns it was insane how much better my Z handled and more responsive around the turns.

BTW i was stock at the time

OF COURSE asthetics are matters of opinion as any sane individual will agree, but when someone like cheever comes out and implies "everyone will agree that the g35c is a better package than a touring 6mt z" it would seem that cheever in his infinite wisdom, 'scientifically' determined for all of us, after looking at his 'web sites' that the g35c is undisputedly a better value than the touring z. Independant of your buying needs and asthetic preferences. In other words a g35c is everything a 350z touring Z is and more.

Well thanks for your concensus driven decision on that one cheever, you are obviously not biased in any way so your opinion should be given much more weight than mine. Nissan is obviously trying to pull one over on their customers (like me) by even offering a touring z. Guess that makes me and hundreds of others on this site a sucker for buying one.

Where would we be without cheever...opinionless apparently. thank god for his guidance.

2 totally different cars, the touring will have the "luxury" look so to speak as the g35, however, it will handle and perform better than the g35 and that my friend is a fact- sitffer suspension, lighter, and more hp
