Hertrich Nissan in Dover,Delaware. WARNING
wow, you know you are not the first person to say something bad about Hertrich Nissans customer service. i saw the other day they had a C5 vette sitting out front looking all nice and pretty. I was considering to go and stop buy to check things out, but if they treat their customers who buy NEW cars like ****, i can only imagine how the customers of USED cars will be treated. Needless to say, I will not be checking anything out from that place. I have heard too many bad things about them.
i used to live in dover couple years ago.
never liked that dealer. infact i don't think they r doing good with the business. sorry to hear bro.

I never "ripped" any front license plate off. I removed it properly after I purchased the car and noticed Hertrich Nissan had drilled holes to install the front license plate cover. I requested they be filled and painted. Hertrich attempted to do it, but they oversprayed ALL over my car (engine bay, windshield). See here: https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....threadid=48207
The general manager of hertrich (at the time) agreed to let a 3rd party body shop fix it (which is where my car is currently).
Yes, your dealership damaged my ONLY master key last thursday when I brought my car in for the tire feathering TSB. Why do you think I asked for my 2nd master key that I was SUPPOSED to get when I purchased the vehicle. Thank god Jen in the service department was able to fix my ONLY master key. Otherwise, I would be unable to open my locked compartments which the valet key cannot unlock.
I also called Kirk a week after I purchased my vehicle, telling him my tow hook cover was missing. You guys did a good job of hiding it with the front license plate you drilled on. He agreed to order me one. I didnt hear from him for the longest time. I didnt know your general manager fired him for being "inadequate."
Yes, we have owned multiple Zs. Some of which were purchased from your dealership. However, this was my first new car. I didnt know I was supposed to get 3 keys total. Trust it will be my last vehicle purchased from your dealership
Wrong. go look at that "we owe" again. It says to fix the nick on the hood and nicks on front bumper. THIS, is in writing buddy.
Furthermore I did sign for 2 keys. But as everyone now knows, I was supposed to sign for 3 keys!!! You are digging your own grave Mr Carpenter.
And you guys didnt offer me ANYTHING until I made this post on the internet. Please don't pretend.
He failed to mention that he ripped off his front license bracket and the dealership fixed his bumper free of charge two seperate times.

He was issued 2 black keys and one valley at the time of delivery. He also fails to mention that his original story consists of the dealership breaking his second key.
He also fails to mention that kirk (sales manager) is a freind of his family and knew nothing about his tow hook cover. Its very ironic it took him six months to figure this out since him and his family have owned multiple Z's.

The dealership has offered him his keys at our cost. He also singed a delivery check list stating he recieved both sets of keys. He also signed a we owe stating there was nothing owed to him at the time of delivery.

Also, before you try screwing another Z owner over Hertrich.... I recommend you think long and hard about who you're doing it to. I know SEVERAL Z owners in delaware and regularly attend East Coast Z meets. You underestimated me when I walked in there last week. Probably because I am young.
I officially hate Hertrick now. I bought my car at Porter Nissan in Newark, they seem to be a mod friendly dealer as well. Can anyone back up that? Also, has anyone delt with Pohanka Nissan in MD? I don't want to go to Hertrick for service/warranty issues after the way I have heard numberous people have been treated there.
I'm used to Price Honda and how they treat you very, very well before and after the sale.
also, die Hertrick

In case anyone is wondering who jcarpenter is, he is the internet sales manager for Hertrich. Thought I would mention that since he failed to introduce himself properly. Just trying to clear any confusion.
I'll be calling NNA tomorow about your response and some questionable things that go on at Hertrich Nissan. I have printed your response out and I hope you will be ready for my response of mine. But, I think you will have more problems when NNA gets wind of what I know. Also, as you may not know this will not be my first contact with NNA. This old post is just the tip of the iceberg. See the date?

Was told my Daytona Blue base 6spd. Sept. 11 or better and would be the 1st one delievered to Delaware. They will have vin # for me tomorrow. I bought at Sheridan Nissan in New Castle, DE. A Dealer in Dover, DE wanted $5k over Msrp. and $2k down. Ordered in mid. Feb. So I shopped and got it for sticker. What is nice. New cars registered in DE can go 5 years before next motor V. inspection. Floor carpets, mud flaps and other accessories yo udon't put in with the sale of the car. Sales tax on cars in DE is 2.75% and everything else is tax free. Annual registration is $20 so I'll pay for 5 years up front for $100 and not see them for 5 years then it will be time to turn it over to my son then he will be old enough to drive. I has been torment waiting I sold my '95 in Feb after order was placed, thank God what a glut of used Z's on the market and some bargains can be found. New rides on the way!

MAJOR UPDATE
As I said in this thread, my car is in the shop right now getting the front bumper resprayed (scroll up to see where I spoke of it)
Well the body shop just called, and Hertrich's general manager is now saying they never promised to repaint it. So it will not be repainted. The body shop owner, Mark, said to the manager "I have had an appointment set with Ryan (dissolved) for months." The manager replied "nothing is in writing, so I dont think its being done."
This is the final straw. We are now going to take legal action against this dealer.

By the way Hertrich, I have had EVERY little thing documented since my purchase (setp 4, 2003). Everything is also on file with NNA, even the bumper respray. Had a file open with them since September

You guys are really digging a big hole by being jerks. The word up and down the east coast is to stay away from you guys. Do you realize that there are a lot of pre-buyers visiting this site before they buy. Word of mouth can help a company or destroy a companies business.
Don't forget about posting this information on the other Nissan sites and Edmunds, not just the 350z sites.
Something some dealers don't understand is that the customer is always right. Give up a couple of bucks to keep a customer happy.
