Bose Check Disk Error: Cause
I took my SS Touring in today for the problem where you get nothing but the Check Disk error message when playing CDs. The service guy claims that it is caused by using Burned CDs in your Bose CD. I call BS on this one. They ordered me a new HU and are replacing it under warrantee, but he warned not to play Burned CDs anymore.
What is funny is that I've done this since day one. The problem first occured with a new copy protected CD that I had to buy because my buddies origional wouldn't burn for me and I didn't want to spend the time to hunt down the songs online.

the only time it happened to me was when the disc was all scratched up and it wouldn't read. about 90% of my CD's are burned... that dealer was straight smokin some weed... just goes to show they try to blame everything on the consumer

The dealer is feeding you BS. Happened to me about 9 months ago. The only CD's that had ever been in my unit were "store bought" music CD's.
Replacing it was the only way. Dealer does not repair.

also keep in mind that you will probably get a remanufactured HU, not a new one.
I've read a few posts that Blose HU are replaced with remanufactured ones.

I remember reading this on a G35 post, but for some reason, the CD slot #5 (the 5th disc) should not be used with a CD-R. You should put an original store bought CD into slot #5. I remember reading in that post, that the radio would jam up if a CD-R was detected in the 5th slot only. I have the touring with the CD changer and I haven't had any problems as of yet, outside of the system being complete crap that is.
