Default Brake squeaks when not applied...

Lately I have been noticing a load distinct intermittent squeak coming from the right front wheel of my 6MT G35 coupe w/ Brembos. The odd part, is that I hear this squeak when the brakes are not being applied. I can be traveling at any speed and the frequency of the squeak increases w/ increasing speed. When I apply the brakes, the squeak stops and occasionally resumes when I release the brakes. Are they're any brake experts in the house that can help diagnose my problem?

Since it's intermittent, it is difficult to reproduce for the dealer. In fact, I have already taken the car in once, but have been unable to duplicate the problem for them. I need more education before my next visit to the dealer. Thanks for all your help....

I had this problem with my car before the Z. It didn't make sense to me, but the garage I talked to explained it. I forget specifics, but there is some piece that is loose and so it vibrates. That's the noise that you hear. The reason you don't hear it when braking is that the brakes stop the piece from vibrating. Hopefully someone can fill in the specifics so that you know exactly what you need to do.

Interesting. My breaks are squeaky sometimes also, I'd say about 20% of the time.

See, that's what I thought about my brakes too. But the second I described it to the mechanic he said "oh yeah, the such-and-such is vibrating."

Put grease on the bolts and it should go away.
