That's great news, and I totally believe you Pat.

Did you totally believe him?

Wonder what he is going to be doing for work tomorrow

I'm not sure if I should be happy or what?!
I have no feeling right now even though I should jump for joy!

Hopefully we'll hear something firm from NNA.

Thanks!

He knows about this site and was shocked at the number of posts..he's a pretty good guy and I tend to believe him...don't think he's pulling my chain...He also talked about a different exhaust system for the track version I think he may have been referring to that when he quoted 305...but that still puts the rest of us at about 295-300 I would think

I was also told that the dealership here will be offering leather as an option for all models...Cheap...this may be the info you were looking for...think this is only for cars sold out of this dealership and this seems to be something they are doing on their own

305! That would be awesome. Man, I hope he's right. Pat, is this guy someone whose position at Nissan is high enough that he would actually know this? Also, are you saying, that he said that the Track will be more HP than the other models? If so, glad I'm one of the Track men!

john0213:
I love the animation in your tagline! But your quote:

"The following sentence is true, the previous sentence is false."

Is not really a paradox (if it is intended to be), since there is only a single sentence (a sentence ends with a period)!

Man, I need to get a life...

Color me dubious, but if there's a different exhaust system for the track model, why hasn't it been aggressively marketed from day one? This would be a great selling point, just like all the other track features.

I suspect the answer is the exhaust system is the same. So, I'm not sure of the reliability of your source. Maybe it will be 305, but it sounds shakey. I do know that ZISME on that "other site" has repeatedly shot down anyone who guessed over 300 with the simple statement:

I would look for a new source of information if I were you.

I also doubt there will be any extra mods to track besides the stated brembos and Rays, between just those 2 your looking at almost $6000 aftermarket I believe. And again they should really be telling us those things in the pre-order brochures. Little things like that might have pushed some of us from perf or touring to track, it was a close decision for me I hafta say.

nizl: your avatar is starting to make me LIKE the antenna Thanks.

If the figure is inaccurate, where would it have come from? When you say dealer rep, I assume this is someone from a Nissan North America regional office. Correct?

Anyway, if the engineers did hit 305HP, I applaud them!

Let me try to clarify who my source is..after I ordered the car I was given his name by the salesman...I was told that he is the Nissan Factory Rep assigned to my dealership and that he was handeling all the pre-orders for that dealership...he was the one I called to add the NAV and confirm that Nissan got the upgrade...Wish I could guarantee to everyone that he is 100% accurate but who knows...that really is the question isn't it...Who Knows?...All I can say is that he has always been straight with me about anything I've asked....his exact quote to me was "Today, Nissan is saying 305."

As you might have read my post yesterday, I went for a ride in an automatic touring z for lunch. I can tell you, that car DID NOT have 305 HP!!!!!!

Maybe the Preproduction cars, like the one I was in, had an available, off the shelf, Altima V6 in it, but no way did it have 300 hp. I would say it might have about 260 or so. 0-60 run was quick, but not within 5 seconds quick, more like 6+.

I would like the production units to have 300+ hp, but I am restaining from accepting that info until it is confirmed from Nissan.

Great, so does that mean that "Tomorrow" they'll be saying 280?

Thanks JmanZ. Keep us updated if your sources narrow down the range. Anything between 300-315 inclusive would be great.

JmanZ,
Damn I hope you are right about the 0-60 of 5.2! That would
smoke most things out there. The horsepower number does
not matter, it's the 0-60 time that counts on the street!
