I had planned to keep her forever, but if the tire feathering comes back, this puppy is GONE!
I just got 2 new fronts courtesy of Nissan. So as soon as I hear the slightest rumble, she is going on the market.

right from the beginning, i was in it for the long run. there were a couple of other people like myself who pre-ordered lemans sunset. i have kept all of the memorabilia that is specific to the car and the pre-order process. i consider myself lucky to have one of the first four thousand off the line. mine, luckily, doesn't have any serious problems. every time i hear an original 240z owner say that their car is in original condition and mint, i am filled with pure envy. down the road, i will hopefully be able to say the same. i love my z.

I've always planned to keep this car forever, especially since I've had it since new (has more meaning). That's probably the reason I only have 4,000 miles a year on her. I'll probably buy a daily driver in about 6 years and the Z will be a weekend driver only. Nice thread EL, I was going to start one, but was lazy.

EL Diablo ... good question..
1/ I have 9,200 trouble-free, happy miles since Feb 11, 2003... and I am still in love with it.
2/ I have spent a lot for mods.. and want more
3/ I don't see any other new models coming out for at least 2 years. Some potential interest in the new GT-R, Honda 2?00 coupe (if it is produced), Supra, RX-7 next iteration, or other Japanese models.
I want only domestic... no import models.. since they have a poor reliability factor in Japan - BMW, Porsche, Benz.. are very expense to maintain... and the highway taxes / inspection fees are killers here.
And.. if any JDM new model comes out that I want to buy -- I am now going to wait at least 1-2 years for the shakedown.
Summary... I plan to keep and mod my current Z for at least 4-5 years. Only wish -- that I had a PPW... instead of my 2nd favorite color Silverstone.

One of my all time favorite cars is the BMW E46 M3 and the M5. I would give anything to own one of those, but whenever there is one of those famous "what would you do if you won the lottery" questions pertaining to getting rid of the Z and replace her with an M3 or M5 my answer is always the same - Hell no! I love my Z with all my heart and would never give her up. Besides if I won the lottery I could always ADD an M3 and M5 of every color made to my stable.

A long time, how long exactly I'm not sure.
My next car is probably going to be in 3-4 years. I'll have to see what's out then. If I end up getting a sports car, it seems kind of silly to have 2 of them.
But then again, I love to collect stuff.

Gonna get rid of mine on October 17, 2006, 3 years to the day that I got it (I'm leasing).
I figure by that time, I'll be drooling over some other car, and I should have the income to buy/lease something a little more exotic (i.e., HSC, Ferrari, etc).
Until then, I'm loving every mile and minute I spend in the Z.

I've hoarded all the mail outs & loads of 350Z stuff from around the World, Nissan GB have featured the car in their magazine & there are more parts on order at present.
The car just keeps getting better & better
