Default Strange Alarm Noise?

Ok, so the other day I pull up to the gas station and turn my car off. I open the door, and the ping noise that lets me know my keys are still in the ignition must have started right as I turned the car off.

The normal ping noise seems like it got hung (frozen) or something because it's constant. Instead of ping, ping, ping I just hear piiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii. So I'm hearing this alarm noise kind of like what you hear when they're testing the emergency response system on TV. It keeps going until I start the engine up again, and then when I shut it down I don't get the noise anymore.

Has this ever happened to anybody else? Anything to worry about?

I don't know, but I'm pretty sure I didn't. It was raining so it's possible, why?

You've got to be kidding me. Ok, guys. NO the headlights were not on. I've had my Z for a year, and have put 15K miles on it. I know all about the noise the car makes when you leave the headlights on, and this wasn't it.

Believe me I would not have wasted your time with such a ridiculous question if the answer was that obvious. Thanks for the help anyways.

Anyone else have any input?

You'd be surprised! Honestly if you can't duplicate the problem again I wouldn't worry about it.

the same thing has happened to me a couple times. i never really bothered to figure out what it was though since it happens once in a blue moon and doesn't seem to be messing with anything. and NO it's not that i've left my headlights on!
