Default Insurance for a 16 yr old?

Hi. I was wondering if anybody knew what the insurance price would be for me. I'm turning 16 and I have good grades and I'm goin to add my mom (who has really good driving records) to my insurance. And this is for a 350Z. Thanx.

err grades don't count when it comes to car insurances. From what I've seen you could be paying 800 per month.
I think you meant the other way around, Your mom should add you to her insurance. Either way, it's ALOT of money that you're gonna have to pay.

You can expect nothing less than 5k a year. Only advice one can give you is keep your record clean or you'll have to work full-time just to insure the puppy .

Listen to Dissolved. You're going to pay out your ARS! It doesn't matter who's name the policy is in, it's going to be rated the same. Most insurance companies will rate the biggest risk driver to the most expensive vehicle. My suggestion, buy a different car.

Damn, must be nice to have a Z at 16.

I saw in an earlier post that you already have your Z. You bought the car before you investigated insurance rates? Hope you and your mom have some deep pockets....depending on how much you put down on the car, I'll bet you're going to be looking at close to $1000/month or more just for car/insurance....That doesn't include gas, maintenance, taxes, etc....Don't ever wreck that thing or get a speeding ticket. If you do, Donald Trump wouldn't be able to afford you.

Good luck man.

Just for reference. I'm 21. I have the good student discount, multiple car discount, on my parents insurance still. Mine is about $240/Month. My car payment is half that lol. Oh well, the price you pay to drive a beautiful car. I think it's about to go down a bunch soon because my roomate was on my policy before on my beater, and they automatically added him to the Z. He has a record...a bad one.

"parents are stupid, no wonder why teenagers act the way they do"
Im 18 and agree.. sterotypes dont bother me because your right.. It bothers me a lot to read posts like this. Most kids are so clueless. This kid has a Z at 16 that his parents gave to him.. At WHAT point is money relevant? Tell mommy and daddy to call mr insurance agent and ask them to give you a quote. When your 16 Insurance all depends on the rest of your family and their plan... youll never get an accurate quote on-line.
If your rate is high.. work for yourself and pay insurance.. if I had the choice of a free car, I would pay overpriced insurance in a second. Unfortunatly I have car and insurance bills to stare at.

I think your statement is too broad. People are stupid, no wonder why people act the way they do.

Well, All I have to say is when my daughter turned 16 I insured her to drive all vehicles BUT the Z. I don't remember the exact quote but it was HUGE! It was actually cheaper to buy her a nice used Camry & insure her on it alone. So don't get your hopes up that you'll be driving the parents Z. It may not happen.

Get his hopes up? His parents "FINALLY" got him a Z for his 16th birthday.

GREAT! And he lives in my state! Guess I can expect my premiums to go up in the near future. As someone else said....."Parents are stupid".
