Now John sounds like a guy's name. Melissa, though, definitely a girl's name. I think I had a wife with that name once. Now there was a woman.

Plenty of dealers lied to me about everything you can imagine. (Especially Buena Park for so cal ppl.) I only bought the car when I found a dealer who was honest. (Corona.)

there is a story behind it....
this is actually my wifes id...
i had a 03 6spd maxima and belonged to maxima.org and my350z...username tonylittell
my wife saw a brickyard z one day and came home and told me she saw a purple z and wanted it...i told her it was called brickyard and went and bought her a brickyard enthusist automatic (she couldnt drive a stick...)well when she registered in my350z it wouldnt let me sign in under my id anylonger..
well bout 3 months later we found out she was pregnant....she refused to learnt to drive a stick so i ended up trading the maxima and getting her a armada...and i took the z and just started usung her id cause i couldnt and still cant get in under mine....i since totalled the brickyard auto (hit a deer and lost control and slammed into a bridge underpass) now i have an 04 performance

so thats my story behind the screen name

Majiin...

Sadly, Nissan isn't dealing on 'Z's' is my understanding.

So, regardless of where you end up buying or contacting to purchase, they just may have you by the 'gonads'.

But, then there is hope --- not all dealerships are out to screw you'.

But it is hard to 'deal' since Nissan hasn't had to and isn't on these models/vehicles.

Good Luck finding/purchasing.

Majiin (and anyone else possibly interested in buying)...

Oh, one other thing, several friends have told me that they check 'CarMax' on-line and have been very impressed with sales and overall customer service and process.

They do sell 'new cars' and the best thing I'm being told is that there is no dickering on price --- they have set price and that is what you pay -- which I am also being told is lower.

Just an FYI...

Uh, that is not necessarily true. I’m not sure what you consider “dealing”.

From what I’ve been able to learn from my own experience and information posted on this site, Nissan will “deal” on the Z. From late summer of ’02, when the Z was introduced, through the winter ’02 it seems most everyone was paying full list (MSRP) or over. But since the beginning of 2003 you should be able to get a Z under MSRP. I bought my Z in July ’03 for about $1,300 off MSRP.

Of course I understand things are a little different out there in California. But in the Midwest the dealers will ‘deal’ with you. Email a dealer in the midwest, buy via the Internet, and fly out to take delivery. I’ve heard several people do that. The savings will more than pay for your ticket and then you can have cool road trip driving you Z home.

Are you really 'saving' anything with that type of 'transcaction/activity?

To 'fly out and take delivery'?

What has happened to finding your dream 'Z' locally?

Just a thought, thanks.
