what's this squeeking/creeking noise my car's making?

However the squeaking is driving me nuts.
I've got the same problem coming from the rear hatch area. I thought I heard it on the driver's side, but could be wrong.
Does it go away for anybody then come back? I usually get it when I driving on the freeway (not really bumpy but definitely up and down movement). One trip I'll hear it and I won't hear it on the nexty trip. It's not always there, so I forget about it.
Haven't checked the perscribed fixes yet...since this thread was bumped, finally read it. I'll check this weekend and see if the 3rd tail light or strut squeaks.

When I first got my 03 Enthusiast, every time I went over a sizeable bump or indention, I heard a creaking sound from the back right side of the car. I could've sworn that it was coming from the rear suspension. I took it into the dealer, and they actually identified the source of the problem and corrected it. They said it was a defective piece of trim in the hatch. It hasn't come back, so that must've been it.
my squeek was comin from the plastic hatch cover. open the hatch and tap the plastic cover to see if you can duplicate the squeek. the plastic connectors were the problem for me. i removed the cover and sprayed silicone to the clips and the squeeks are gone. i did this over a year ago and the problem has not come back. hope this helps
I thought this squeak was coming from the strut also. When I moved the silver Z plate with my hand I could hear some noise so I took all the panels off. I put some tape over the areas where the platic was touching metal and put it all back together. This didn't fix the problem. I'll give the break light and plastic cover a try tonight.
My sound was metal to metal rattling. The dealer pretty much replaced the entire rear-right suspension including the strut assembly, all bushings and I believe the CV joint also. There was a long list of parts installed and whatever it was, it fixed it.
OK it took me some time to do this but I was finally able to get rid of the squeak. Here is what I found. I tore down all of the panels in the back of my car that surrounded the sway bar back there or strut or whatever that damn thing is. Anyway, I drove around and sure enough the car was still squeaking. I pounded around with my hand and finally I was able to locate the squeak. My squeak was coming from the panel on the inside of the hatch back door. This was the large panel covering the entire inside. I found the noise coming near the area where the wiper motor is mounted. There is a little hump there. The cause of the noise was one of the metal clips. If you pull all your panels you will know that you have 2 types of clips. Once is a round plastic clip and the other is a flat grey metal clip. The metal clips rub on the inside of the rectangular holes that they clip into. The wholes are in the sheet metal. I found that the easiest way to fix the issue was to take small strips of black tape and cover the clips entirely. Don’t wrap them up much just lay the tape over and press it into place. When you replace the panels they will be snug but they should go in. The metal to metal action will be insulated and therefore no more squeaks.
Now onto the next item. I have 2 rattles in my car. One is the arm rest of the passenger door. I know it is there because as soon as I hear it I can simply touch that arm rest and it stops. The other is on the dash where the defrost air comes out. If I hear it and touch the plastic right next to the alarm LED, the small round object on the driver’s side dash, the sound stops. Nice I love having a 6 month old nice ride that makes all this noise. Let me know if you did anything to fix those rattles. I haven’t had time to look into them yet.
I hope this helps some of you fix your issue.
Good Luck.
