Default front bumper plugs

I am having trouble with the search function, so I hope someone out there can steer me straight.....A short while ago there was a thread on someone who sold or knew where they sell plugs to fill the holes left in your front bumper when the license holder bracket is removed. I live in New Jersey, a two plate state, and plan to move to Florida, a one plate state. If the plug thread is lost forever, does anyone know of a sight that sells decorative front license plates to fill in for the missing front plate? Thank you for your kindnesses and assistance.

You know, I wondered about this at first, but then I noticed that the screws that my dealer used to screw the plate to the frame were too long, and have now gouged their own marks into the bumper, so even if I plug the screw holes from the frame, I've got these nice big dimples where the plate screws dug into the bumper...

Butt monkeys....

I got my dealer to fix those, but they wouldn't budge on the drilled holes...

Unhappy Bumper Plugs

I too became a victim of a knuckleheaded auto tech at the dealership where I bought my roadster. When I went in to pick up my Z, they had already screwed in the license plate frame and also used the "too long" screws and very nicely ran them into the bumper completing their masterpiece of sh*t.

Just my 2 cents...but I had the clear bra installed on my bumper and it covered over the holes with the thin sheet of clear plastic. I then put a thin coat of touch-up paint on the clear bra over the holes and they almost vanished from sight. The paint has really adheared to the clear bra and I'm now a happy camper.

Just thought I'd turn you on to an alternative to bumper plugs.

Happy Motoring......

Go to Home Depot and buy Nylon plugs (can't remember the exact size)...they cost less than $.50...yes...50 cents. They fit perfect! Get touch up paine from the dealer to match your car...your done!

Most car washs here in Arizona sell decorative plates - otherwise try Pep Boys or Checker - or another auto supply store??

I had the ones from bumperplugs.com on mine, and they matched the silverstone very well, but then my dad drove my car, hit a dog, and I got a new bumper with no holes in it

word of caution. Dont let a body shop fill the drilled holes. Any flex to the bumper can cause the holes to re=appear. Yes I speak from personal experience

if you refer to filling the holes with body filler or glazing putty then yes they most def will reappear. What you should have made them do was sand down part of the bumper and use a plastic or urethane welder to actually melt up the holes and then they can me sanded down flush and painted. Works alot better when the bodyshop stops cutting corners and will actually do things the right way.

Lazy bodyshops

I just took sardentos adivce and the car looks GREAT. They are threaded nylon plugs and you screw them in with a flat head screwdriver. Looks good

One very good advice for not having a front license plate. If you live in a 2 plate state, you can probably get away with one rear license by leaving that temporary license sticker on ur windsheild so when a cop sees that you don't have a front license plate, he might assume its a new car and leave you alone cause of a glance at the temp license sticker. Thats what I'm doing and nothin happened so far.
