Oh boy! I finally get to use this dopey icon!!!

Just got back from Port Newark, and what was bar-none the greatest moment in recent history for me. The Hual Trooper was there, ILA members dutifully unloading cars. I waved my friend over, he took my VIN, and found my car. (There's more to the story, but I can't tell it here...)

Cars are moving from the shipyard to the prep lot the same day, and getting trailered out fairly quickly thereafter. I should have my car by this Saturday.

FINALLY!!! I AM SO PUMPED!!!

There she is, all wrapped up in swaddling clothing...

Today I was told that my order has gotten VIN. I wonder this Port has mine ready to be shipped to S.E. Ohio!

These seem to have more 'wrapping' than the other Z's that we have seen.

Yeah, that's one of the things that stuck out right away. The later cars are coming through practically totally covered in plastic wrap.

 

Ah yes, finally some performance models. Maybe my car was on that damn boat!

 

Congrats!!! That's awesome man. I just got back from a week vacation in FLA...man was I fiending to get back behind the wheel. You're gonna love the car.

 

Well, that means my car should be in Newport News right now! Maybe it will be here by the weekend??

Indeed I have an update. As of last night, most of the Z's received in the last shipment (unsure of total, but it appeared to be about 50 or so) were prepped and ready for pickup by the trailers. Unfortunately, the logistics of the trucking folks is a little iffy, so there's no sure-fire way to tell when the cars will show up at the dealers. However, I've been told I should expect my car at the end of this week, or early next week.

Rest assured that if your car was part of that batch, then you'll have your keys VERY soon.

The VINs of the cars showing up are not necessarily linear. However, your VIN is remarkably close to mine, so I would expect that it was in the last batch. Get on your dealer now and let them know you expect to see your car soon!!! (And be sure to set your expectations NOW -- no front plate holder, no dealer tags, etc.)

 

Where are you guys going to put your front plates? Isn't it the law to have one in NJ? (stupid, I know)

 

NJ law says a front plate is needed. However, I'll run the risk of a ticket, and just keep the plate inside the car with me.
