Never even considered a s2k. Too small and not enough power.

the way i was looking at it was, S2K, RX-8 or Z. I easily got rid of the s2k in that line up so it was really down to the rx-8 or Z. And when i went to look at the Z I have now, I fell in love with it right when i saw it.

As much as I love the Z I love the S2K as well, the gearbox is amazing!

The arrow pointing to where the S2k's were running. Taken from a 350ZR with a "woman driving"! Oh snap!

wasted so much time reading about whether or not the s2k is a "chick car' or not when thats irrelevant to this topic imo. Basically it comes down to which car is a better DD for me and personally the s2k should not be DD'd. I own a 2002 and i think the s2k is the perfect enthusiasts sports car... IF you have another car you can drive monday - friday to work/school etc. The Z is better / more comfortable for the daily commutes

A friend of mine had an rx8. The thing was complete crap... Cool looking car, sounds pretty good with an exhaust, but no power, tons of parts broke, transmission was complete sh*t, and terrible mileage.

If I bought an rx8 it'd be to swap the motor out for something better. I'd love a 2jz rx8! The rear seats are a nice little bonus.

I don't want to navigate the 25 pages of this thread so I'm just going to give my unbiased $0.02.

As a DD, the Z will be better in nearly every category that encompasses daily duty.
Size, comfort, ride quality (350z is debatable), storage capability, etc.

The S2k is a pure sports car. No extra curriculars....just a car that begs to be driven.

Little background, I just traded my S2k in for a 370z. I didn't trade my S in because the performance was lacking. I raced this one and had raced them before (autox and road course). I've never felt more comfortable pushing a car than I have with those. Transmissions are complete butter. I'm not saying Nissan transmissions aren't good....very few transmission shift like an S2000's.

That said, it really isn't great for DD. I did it before I got a work demo (read: daily driver) and it isn't optimal.

Torque...this topic has probably been beaten to death. Yes, the S is pathetic in this dept. All Honda's are. You deal with it :P

Time will tell if I end up enjoying my 370z more than my S2000. In some facets, it will. In others, I feel the Z may come up short.

I don't believe one to be better than the other. Different strokes for different folks. As far as pure driving is concerned, I think the S is the better choice. If you're looking for a great all-around package, I think the Z is the better choice. I think asking a question such as this on a Z forum is fruitless. How many are going to say their car is inferior to another of comparable perfomance and price? :P

RX-8 = fail. My buddy picked one up and a month later we were all laughing at him and he was regretting it.

Why are you guys so concern with chick cars and perception. Shouldnt yourespect the car for its performance. Btw most chicks I know prefer a Z over the s2k.

But for me the z is a good dd, get around town, from point a to b car with a shot of happiness. The s2k is a good track car. I would have both... or just buy a NSX. Brb gotta go fap to a pic of it.

I actually traded my boosted S2k for my buddies 350z that's mine now. I miss the S2k a lot, but it had 165k miles vs 63k miles on the Z. Honestly, the s2k drives 100% better than the 350z. It's like driving a race track car which makes it so much fun to drive, but like many have said, its just not a DD where as the Z is. The Z has more room inside and feels "safer" for some reason..The Z is more practical yet sporty at the same time. The S2k is like literally driving a regular sized go kart around the streets. Wish I could have kept it as a garage queen, and get a beater but gotta grow up sometime. Plus I want to get a GTR later down the road so I had to make the switch to nissan now! lol

S2k is a good car unless you want power. They are expensive to build, and will always just sound like a pissed off civic.
