Default Z + iPod?

Anyone here use an iPod to store their music collections and how do you listen to it in your Z? I have a cassette adapter but the sound quality is horrible throught it. Maybe a wireless FM transmitter?

/sigh Z's the only Nissan without an audio input.

Yet. Haha. That won't last two long. I think I made it about 2 months before I started trying to look for things I could put in my Z. Haha. Anyway, if you don't want to touch anything, the people I know who use the wireless transmitters with their iPods don't seem to have had any problems.

I've been using the TransPod myself. Although having a cord plugged in 1he 12V between the seats is kind of pain, it does keep it freshly charged. The FM reception is decent too.

Since I live in a place where there are too many radio stations, the wireless transmitter sucks for me. So I have a wired fm transmitter that works well for me, just a little low in volume. But it works great.

I have been using a cassette adapter and it works fine. Also use the Belkin TuneDok Car Holder and the placement of the iPod makes it easy to use.

i use the iRock. it plugs into your iPod headphone jacks and you can set it to 1 of 3 or 4 different fm stations. it works pretty well in close proximity (ie: in your cup holder)

the iTrip sucks for me. its maybe halfway decent at best. im also waiting for the alpine HU. My radio reception isnt that great even when listening to regular stations. A cassette adapter will give you better sound quality than an FM transmitter will. An FM transmitter at its best will sound like the best FM station you have ever heard.

The Alpine HU is in my first post in this thread, but here it is again: http://www.vwvortex.com/artman/publ...ticle_650.shtml. It is designed to take input from an iPod. The two main advantages are the direct connection and the ability to control the iPod through the HU.

I've had my iPod for quite a while and I was originally using a cassette adapter until they released the iTrip. The cassette adapter had given decent output but I hated the wires everywhere along with the stock Bose headunit. Eventually I got the Bose headunit replaced at the dealership with a new one. Got rid of the muddy sound I was originally experiencing. Then I eventually got my iTrip through the mail after waiting like 6 months for the darn thing. After using the iTrip for a while I noticed that it never quite sounded as clear as the cassette adapter until I messed around with the equilizer settings on the iPod. I went into 'Settings' then 'Equalizer' and selected "Treble Booster". It's pretty much on par with the adapter now. Sounds pretty good.

maybe my antenna just sux, but the iTrip for me always has static, unless i listen to roc music which drowns it out. The upcoming alping HU plugs into the ipod with dock connector and displays artist name track num and can control the iPod.

Default Did I get ripped off or somethin?

I don't have a cassette player in my Z for some reason. I thought it was the same for all Z's when I noticed it but after I saw that pic, because I have an MD player that can also play in a car with a cassette thing. Is it because mine is the base model or somethin???Does anyone else have a base that doesn't come with cassette player?

The Bose stereo in the Touring model has a casette player. The stock radio in the base and enthusiast models doesn't have one.
