2005 Horsepower for the Z
Has anyone heard if the new Z will have more HP for 2005, or if it will remain stagnant at 287HP for the new year?

This is all I've heard so far about 2005 Z
Consumer Guide
News The 2005 Z-cars get several upgrades. As with the early-arriving '05 midsize Altima sedans, Nissan answers critics by replacing cheap-looking interior trim with better-quality stuff, including soft-touch material on the dashboard and console. Also added are lower-dashboard knee pads, a padded console armrest, redesigned automatic shifter, and shoulder-belt "service arms" that eliminate the need to reach behind when buckling up. There's a sturdier center-dashboard lid too, with power operation on cars with optional navigation. Finally, the '05 Zs adopt Euro-market suspension calibrations said to give a smoother ride, plus a tandem brake booster to replace a single master cylinder.
Nissan has hinted at more available power and other enhancements for future Zs. The most likely, we think, are a supercharger option, possibly by 2006, and available all-wheel drive borrowed from the platform-related Infiniti G35 sedan.

So, is the knee pad and console armrest pad, and the seatbelt arm enough to ID the car as a 2004.5? Can the VIN help too? Now, on a different note, the Euro suspension is the answer to fix the tire feathering, right?

If your dealer has any 2004s (READ: not 2004.5s) left, I'd be really surprised. The 2004.5s went into production sometime mid October. But I guess it is possible. Personally, if I were shopping for a Z today, I'd love to find a 2004 rather than a 2004.5. The knee pads are an eyesore if you ask me. My knees have never had any problems, and no one has ever complained in the passenger seat either. But yeah, the suspension would be nice.

I must have a 2004.5 because my car has these things.

I have an 04.5 and my car has all of those things listed. I use to have an early model 04 that did NOT have those listed.
My early model 04 pulled right and 3rd gear grinded often, my current 04.5 is straight as an arrow and I have never ground a gear.

I've got new nav door, knee pads, seat belt extenders but my vin seems to fall within the 2004 (NOT .5) range. I can not confirm suspension or brembo braking change. Anyone else finding this to be the case? I was wondering if I had the new suspension or new braking setup...

I'm into the 2004.5 range by a few thousand cars, but I dont think I have console arm rest....
I'd appreciate a picture of it on the car if anyone has it.
I think I found a picture of the pad itself, but I was curious as to its placement. Does it look pretty much just like the knee pads?
