No longer a Z owner.
I thought I would be regretful. I thought I would be remorseful. I thought I would miss the Z terribly, but I don't. Something was missing from my ownership experience. My smile from driving had diminished greatly. Perhaps that something is the $3500 in ****ing tires I went through before Nissan even began to figure out it's alignment problems, or perhaps the persitant, stupid little electrical problems that kept plauging my ECM and sensor system. Not even the exclusivity of a pre-order Z could keep me in the car. I had ****ing had it. It's gone.
I felt that my Z was a fantastic looking piece of machinery and enjoyed personalizing the car and making it my own. The amount of pictures I took of the car is testament to just how much I loved it at one time. Regardless, I've moved on and thought I'd share the new ride since I've been a member here on the board for so long. Say whatever you want about the looks, this is a purpose-built machine that moves like stink and attempts to defy physics with gobs and gobs of grip. I think it is striking in black and all business. Driving it is like having a 120 lb. Rottweiler drag you down the street by it's leash, an absolute blast. This car was made for me, but I just didn't know it. The mods have already started and I can't wait to get into the engine.

nice f'ing car! these cars aren't designed to be pretty, so no point in asking for or giving opinions about its looks. so i won't. they get respect though, don't worry about that.

Why can't Subaru make a good looking car. Most manufacturers have at least one good looking car in their lineup. Subaru needs to send it's design engineers back to school. I love the STI, but I simply won't buy a car thats crazy fast but looks like a grocery getter

nice but...
I'm sorry your experience with the Z wasn't what it should of been. My guess is the car isn't for everybody and Nissan isn't making ownership any easier.
I've always liked Subaru, it's a great car on paper and you can't deny the numbers but why does it have be so ugly? Subary is obviously capable of making cool cars (SVX is still an all time favorite of mine).
Good luck with the car, it's a sweet ride, and stop in and let us know how it's going. Personally I love all cars, I think it's silly to hate other manufacturers just because I love my Z, so I'll enjoy seeing updates on what you're doing to it.

Hey, look at me I`m Justin Timberlake. For my next song, I will sing "Cry me a River."

The STI was my first choice, then I say the Silver Z and that was my first choice before that a Twin Turbo 911 was my first choice, but then I seen a mint condition 951 (944)Porsche Turbo and that was my first choice, but I ended up with a Silver Z :-)
