Default breakin your z iNN..

how many miles did you baby your z until you ran it hard? i was told by the dealer 1200 miles before i go above 4,000 rpms which is understandable because you have to break your clutch inn also. i tried a search already but really couldnt find a striaght out answer.. thanks in advanced

I did the standard 1,200 miles. Kept the car under 4,000 RPMs and for the most part, didn't keep the engine at the same rpm or speed for more than 10 - 15 minutes at a time.

I also notice the clutch breaks in too, but, it took me about 2,500 miles to notice a difference.

Enjoy your Z!

The whole 1200 miles. My dealer told me that I didn't have to, however the majority of the threads that I read highly recommended it. Hope this helps.

I couldn't wait till 1200 milesa so I started goin up to like 5000rpm on alot of shifts after like 500 miles. I kno its not too good for tha car but its just so tempting! You can actually feel tha car when u gas that baby down and till like 5000rpm...damn, its so much more fun now. When you start gunning tha car, you can finally understand where those horsies went. They're all past tha 4,000rpm...you can actually feel some Gforce that throws u into ur seat. Ill start goin into 6000rpm(around redline) maybe after around 2-300 more miles. And back then when i was driving around 3500rpm and thought that was pretty fast, goin till like 5000rpm is like 5 times better. I wonder what redline feels like...
