Default Splitview Camera display in Navi-hole

I spend a lot of quality time poking around Nissan's site for the FairladyZ in Japan. They have many optional equipment offers that are not available here in the US.

Of all the ones I saw, I drooled the most over this....

It is a "split screen" video display unit that fits in the Navi- spot that show a view from two camera's at the same time!

Imagine being able to mount them as a replacement for your sideview mirrors!

Anyway, the version they show is to have the camera's mounted in the front nose of the Z pointed left and right. I guess the idea is that if you are just emerging from an alleyway, you can just stick the car nose out a little bit and see if any traffic is coming from either side.
Nice.

I'll have the leave the details of the Japanese translation to Tako but here is the link for you guys to check this out...

After seeing those sharp turns and narrow alleys, this thing is a big plus for japanese market. I even saw they stack up their cars in the parking lots..... one top of another

Default I would

mount one camera out the back window and another out the right rear window. No more blind spots.

Hmm, in NYC, stacking cars is very common. Personally, the idea of it gives me the shivers.

upon delivery of my car, i plan to install a rear facing camera with monitor in the empty nav compartment. i recommend www.supercircuits.com. i work in the security field and we use their equipment every now and then. you can easily find a color, 1.5in X 1.5in or smaller cam for under $100 with plug and play cables. i would advise to get one with at least 350 lines resolution. (hi-8 and SVHS is 520 lines). good luck

I dont know... Looks like the lil camera outside the car above that front reflectors would get dirty...

Would be cool to have though and use as a surveilance device also!
