This is what Progressive quoted me. No tickets, no accidents. Southern California.

Actually thats about right. Of course Progressive has the habit of qouting you low for the first year then jacking up your rate in the 2nd.

that seems about right for being 21. you can talk to an agent and i'm sure they'll explain why the premium is $1700/ 6 months. still check out some other companies before you choose.

i went to all the places when i was 21, and lowest for me was state farm. and they quoted me at $175/month.

however, i just added on to my dad's plan and it's much lower now.

I'll be paying 860 per 6 months when I buy the car soon. I'm 24, have no tickets, and I'm married. I guess being married pays off after all

I pay around 750 per 6 months or so and I'm 24 with a good record.

Be sure to tell them all the safety and anti-theft options that are on the Z...It can bring it down a little bit.

how many miles per year qualifies as a "week end car"?? my first year in the Z, I only put in about 7K miles. maybe it can bring my insurance down a bit. I also have my maxima so the mileage is split with the two

Try AAA in So Cal. If you have a clean record they are usually cheap. When I got my first car in LA at 22 I got quoted $4,400 from state farm for a year, and AAA quoted me $1994 (i remember because it was in 1994 . Of course when I got into an accident and got another ticket they dumped me .

Holy crap man...if I were you I'd look into a different car...that is just downright ridiculous. In VA I was paying something like $560 per 6mos with damn good coverage through allstate (although I had a $1k deductible and I am 24). 3x that is just insane.

Good luck whatever you do, maybe try something like costco...sometimes they can offer you discounted insurance rates.

That is pretty high. I pay $630/6 months with Progressive. I'm 23 with a clean record.

yeah, seriously, you should drive your car to VA and give the thing to me. Don't fool with insurance like that!
