Someone hit my baby, fix advice?
Walked out of work yesterday, looking forward to driving my Z, and I see a nice dent in the fiberglass front bumper!!!
My deductible is $1000, so I figured I'd fix it. Did some searches on the forum here, couldn't find a good thread, does anyone have advice?
I have a "Ding King" that I use on my old Honda, I could try and at least pull it out but I'll still have a crack. I assume there's a fiberglass repair kit or something that would work? And any tips on painting over the crack (would a "paint pen" work?)
What about replacing the bumper? Couldn't find a store on-line does anyone know how much the part is?
THANKS MUCH BOYS

Oooo, a brick
How about thinking about investing in an aftermarket front end...? If you're thinking about a paint pen, you could make the dent (crack?) less visibly apparent. Look at the NorCal thread for the Unofficial Bay Area Automotive Shop Directory for some shops that have been used and/or are recommended by users on this board

judging from the black oem grill i dont think you have a fiberglass bumper...if it is indeed fiberglass any bodyshop can fix that and repaint the whole bumper...if its the stock plastic one im not sure if they can fix it to look brand new..might need to get a new bumper
want my opinion..put your license plate on and it will cover it..if it was on that never woulda happened

Plastic does not have the memory of metal, therefore the Ding King probably wont be able to get it out. I had my rear bumper hit when I first got the car and I called a Dent repair guy. They were able to get a little bit of the dent out by heating up the plastic and trying to reform it, but they weren't able to fully get it out. Also, not many dent people will try plastic knowing that they probably wont fix it completely. But, if you get lucky, call around and you might find some independent dent fixer who will try to fix it.

I have these bumpers in stock... I can have it painted and you drive by us and get it installed...
quick fix.. no down time for your car...
I just need to find out how much it will be to paint brick-yard color...
AX8...
the damage to your wallet will be far less then your 1000 dollar deducatable...

Well, I ended up taking the bumper off myself and massaging out the dent with a hair dryer. This worked pretty well considering the original damage.
BUT, it still bugs me horribly and I want to replace the bumper. I can get the bumper from the OEM website for $165. I'm willing to put it on myself (I was actually surprised how easy it was to remove the bumper) but does anyone know the best method to get it painted? Will a body shop paint the bumper seperately and give it me? How about the brickyard color since it's now discontinued, is it a more expensive color to paint?
I'm also considering an aftermarket bumper, there are some pretty cool ones out there... but I'm naive about how the parts get painted. Do you just take them to a body shop?
Thanks for the help guys, much appreciated.

Yes, just take it to a body shop and give them your Nissan paint code (AX8). They'll mix it and paint it and you can then install it yourself if you want.
Brickyard consists of 6 different colors mixed together (IIRC). One is a "pearl" color that was fairly expensive but they won't need much to paint just the bumper.
