Default Holy Sh*t!

Ok, my brother comes home from college and we go for a ride (his first time in the car). Well, I don't know if it was just the adrenaline in me or my showmanship comming out, but I redlined her about 2-3 times, and DAMN!. (I know, I know, I only have about 600 miles on her.) This car doesn't even start to breate until you pass 4000RPM. I was suprised at how well the torque just builds and builds never seeming to drop off. Not that feeling of the ehgine spinning faste but not felling any of it reaching the ground, this baby moves. And now I fuly apreciate the seats, as I got a alot closer with them this time out.

P.S. A warning to those hellbent on heeding the break-in restrictions. Don't let that needle travel past 4000 ever, cause once you do )accidentally in my case), you fell as though ou have no option but to puch it harder. Its iresitable.

i TRY TRY TRY not to let her go too far!! But yes, she has hit 5500rpm a couple of times. The least I can say is that I havent redlined...HOWEVER....raceboy was doing HIS 0-60 times at 700 miles, and he seems to think that its ok. I want to believe him!!!

rpgonzalez, i hear yah, the gearing is so short (or is it tall?) that you really have to try HARD to keep it under 4000. Once you floor it abvove 4000, your mine as well prepare for a much warmer climate later on becuse you will sin, and sin again you will.

One thing I like about the Z is how easy it is to drive on a daily basis. Just going to work and back, it doesn't feel like that fast of a car. Very solid yes, but fast, not really. Coming out from lights, I'm basically at the same pace as the other commuters.

However, step on it, and it really GOES! I haven't really floored it much, but the few times I have, it's like a whole different automobile. It's definitely the fastest car I've driven, which really isn't saying much, it's quick enough that you really really have to pay attention to the world whizzing by the windows. I guess a lot of people said the same thing about the NSX. Easy daily driver, rocket when pushed.

I should change my sig to 1600+ miles to date.

I am vibrating at a high frequency to "punch"this car. I think Brad4 had it right, I know if I do this once...I shall do it again. 683.2 miles and counting.

Hey!

What happened to the subliminal redline messages??? I don't want to have to resort to hypnotic smilies here. Even I've been up to 6200, but not till 1400 miles.

Oh yeah, you got(edit:get) there real quick and those that complain about torque loss are forgetting about the momentum that is still being delivered. It really is above 200lbs through most of the range.

Personally I think I'll like this car alot for the highway and off the line, and I love it for hill climbs. I also followed the recommendations for break-in and have little that bothers me so far.

Just got past 1200 miles and all I can say is WOW

The car goes, very quick up to redline. All the power I need. Any more and I would just get into trouble. But if Nismo comes out with power upgrades.....I will be in trouble
